A defined rectangular area on a land aerodrome/heliport prepared for the landing and take-off of aircraft. -- Description -- SOURCE [Runway - AIXM5.0]. NOTE 1 This includes the concept of Final Approach and Take-Off Area (FATO) for helicopters [Runway - AIXM5.0]. NOTE 2 The runway strip is a defined area including the runway and stopway, if provided, intended : a) to reduce the risk of damage to aircraft running off a runway; and b) to protect aircraft flying over it during take-off or landing operations [ICAO].

validTo DateTime The time from which the transport area no longer exists in the real world.

geographicalName GeographicalName (datatype) A geographical name that is used to identify the transport network object in the real world. It provides a 'key' for implicitly associating different representations of the object.
