This data set is a collection of individual spatial objects (units) in a distribution of habitats.

The geographic distribution of a habitat within a certain country, bio-geographical region or other geographical area, depicted based on other geographical features e.g. grids.
NOTE Habitat distribution is one of the aspects to assess the conservation status of the habitat types of Annex I of the Habitat Directive. The member states are obliged to provide the EC with distribution maps (grids of 10*10 km) with information about the actual occurrences of the habitat types within a the bio-geographical regions within the member state based on the results of a comprehensive national mapping or inventory of the habitats wherever possible.
